Order 12 – MOTION PICTURE INDUSTRY
Definition, Section 2(K)
“Motion Picture Industry” means any industry, business, or establishment operated for the purpose of motion picture or television film production, or primarily allied with theatrical or television, motion picture productions, including but not limited to motion pictures for entertainment, commercial, religious, or educational purposes, whether made by film, tape, or otherwise.

"Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) Orders Regulating Wages, Hours and Working Conditions" – The State of California has drafted 17 separately numbered IWC orders establishing minimum wages and standards for hours and working conditions for State of California employers in every industry. The applicable order for each employer is determined by the principal business of that employer. The type of business must, therefore, match the industry listed on the poster.

The maximum fine for failure to post this notice is $100 or, since this is a criminal misdemeanor, possible imprisonment for not less than 30 days.

IWC wage orders, which govern wages, hours and working conditions in California, are in effect and must be posted by all employers in an area frequented by employees, where they may be easily read during the workday. Copies of the wage orders may be downloaded or ordered electronically from DIR’s workplace postings page. The Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) will continue to enforce the provisions of the wage orders.
